Meet Our Family
Exploring the world as a multicultural family - travelling slowly, inclusively, and with connection in mind. Keep in touchThe Family Behind the Adventures
We’re the Danish family — an Australian–Egyptian family of four who’ve swapped ordinary routines for a life of learning and exploring together.
I’m Keticia — a booklover, foodie, and travel enthusiast who is happiest when I’m exploring, creating or connecting. I’m passionate about child development, inclusivity, and creating environments where kids can truly thrive.
My husband Kareem works remotely, keeps us all grounded, and has an impressive talent for solving Rubik’s cubes (and for tolerating my big ideas… like moving to Egypt).
Our kids, Laith and Susu, are our greatest teachers. Laith is thoughtful, inquisitive, and drawn to all things science and engineering — he is who I’ve really passed the travel bug on to. Susu is our nature and animal-loving free spirit, with a laugh that turns heads, a huge heart and a spirit that reminds us what really matters.
Now based in Cairo’s leafy suburb of Heliopolis, we balance home life, distance education, and inclusive travel — exploring Egypt and beyond at our own pace. Our adventures blend ancient history with everyday wonder, sensory-friendly stops, and plenty of laughter (and snacks!).
We travel as a multicultural family with roots in both Egypt and Australia, finding beauty in the familiar and the foreign — and learning how to make the world a little more accessible, one trip at a time.
Our Story
We’ve lived across several countries and continents, but after a month in Egypt visiting extended family, we saw something shift. The kids were thriving — Susu became more flexible and at ease, while Laith’s confidence blossomed as he connected with his extended family and his cultural roots.
As parents, creating opportunities and environments where our kids can thrive has always been our guiding focus. So, we made the big decision to upend our life in Australia and move to Egypt — to be closer to family, spend more time travelling, and help our children connect more deeply with their culture.
With one child who has multiple disabilities, slow travel has become our way of connecting, growing, and creating space for both our kids to flourish.
Through Our Accessible Travels, we aim to inspire and empower other families to explore more inclusively and intentionally — finding joy in connection, adaptability, and shared experiences along the way.
Because we believe travel isn’t just about ticking boxes — it’s about opening doors.
